Living room wall repair

February 29th, 2012

The wall repair is coming along as Mike and the crew prepares the walls for paint. The wall in the living room had water damage. They use an oil base primer to seal the wall with a water barrier to protect the patch work.

Tuck pointing

Mike got a man to tackle the tuck pointing of the brick on the house.  The breakdown of the mortar is responsible for wall damage around the windows in the 2nd floor living room. We then sprayed it with a sealant to help water proof the walls.

Gutter repair

February 28, 2012

Mike Wathen’s crew is doing a fine job. Work on the inside of the house is progressing but the steps needed to make the wall repairs are slow and not picture worthy at this point.

With the incredible weather we are having in Cincinnati we took advantage of it to get some outdoor work completed. First we bypassed the clasped storm water pipe for the gutter and filled in the sinkhole that was created.

Day one February 22

This day is about setting up to work and the diving in. Wathen Drywall’s 3 man crew split into 2 groups. One guy started on painting on the 3rd floor while Mike Wathen and his helper start demo on the 2nd floor living room ceiling by far the biggest job for the turnover of the apartment. The pictures show the before pictures and then snapshots of the work completed in the living room the 1st day. Mike removed light fixture for demo to protect it and rehung after that section of drywall was fastened. Insulation was installed to replace the old blown in insulation. I was pleased with what was accomplished on day 1.
